I love sunset/sunrises, I am mesmerized by each one I see. So you can see why it is a challege for me to try and paint them. The inspiration for this painting came from a trip I took last week. We have had sooo much rain that there is a lot of standing water in the fields. It may be very frustrating for farmers but I was amazed by the darken atmosphere and bright spots of color as the puddles reflected the beautiful colors of the sunset.This painting is 5x7 acylic on masonite, ready to frame.

It is a bit on the tonalist side due to the colors I used and gives strong visual impact using a simple minimalist composition. I put an angus cow and calf in the painting for focal point and scale.This painting is a 5"x7" acrylic on masonite. Rather than paint a black border around the edges I sanded and distressed them.

Happy May Day everyone! This is the first year we haven't had any May baskets left for the kids, guess they are getting too old :(Today's painting I call "Hope". This features an ocean, beach seascape painting with lots of texture. I tried something different and wrote "hope" in the texture.
