August 28 Large Minimalist Landscape with Tons of Texture and a Tree

Hi Everyone
I thought I would list some larger paintings as my "paintings a day" since I have some piling up in my studio.

This is a large original acrylic, 18x24 on canvas with LOTS of texture. It is .75" in depth and the sides are painted black. It is a minimalist type of painting featuring a strong tree, I call it "Strength".

After Labor Day I have about 10 4"x6" original acrylic landscapes on masonite that I will auction off on Ebay. I mean a REAL auction...I am going to start them at 9.99 with no reserve. I am hoping they get mulitple bids and not sell for under $10 but that is totally possible.

Paintings of Barns with Barn Quilts in Sac County Iowa

Here are 5 of the 8 paintings I have painted for the Sac County Iowa Barn Quilt Association. I am in the process of having notecards made so the group can sell them and keep a portion of the proceeds for fundraising.

They did not commission me to paint these but rather I am doing this of my own free will. I have been working closely with the group however.

I am originally from Sac City so felt a connection to this project and the hard working people of Sac County and was hoping I could do something to help. They need funds to keep making maps and brochures for tourists, (which they have gone through thousands the last few year). Maps and brochures can be expensive for a non-profit group so hopefully my note cards can help a bit.

Like my sign on my painting says "I am back from vacation" It was nice to get away but am looking forward to being back and getting into a routine again. The kids also go back to school tomorrow so my life will seem so different after tomorrow!

We went to visit my brother's family in Coeur d' alene, Idaho. It is such a beautiful place with no humidity or bugs! Such a different place compared to Iowa in the hot summer. We had a great time :)
