August 22 Another Oldie But Goodie Farm Landscape in Pencil Cows Barns and Kitties!

I don't have a new painting to post today so I took a pic of one of my older pieces created in 1996. I have to laugh because if you look closely I put everything I could in there. Can you find a tractor, cows, windmill, pigeons, barn, cat with kittens, a kid playing with the dog, farm house and even laundry on the line? Can you tell I have always wanted to live on a farm? I used several reference photos and like how I designed the composition to lead the eye through the drawing.

We got our daughter to college with no tears! That means I didn't get to paint today and I don't have anything new for sale to post. So I took a pic of one of my favorite paintings I did several years ago. This is a watercolor/color pencil piece of a cabbage. It was hard to photograph since it is hanging with glass (if you look closely you can probably see my reflection). I quit doing these kind of pieces since my hand was always hurting. This is a larger piece, I should try some smaller ones for a change of pace.

I left the border of the tin in the original characterful condition, I love the crackle finish. I really said "ooh ahh" when applying with my brush.
